Who We ARE

Next Century provides technology solutions for small to mid-size businesses in Michigan's Upper Peninsula-specifically in the Keweenaw Peninsula. Next Century, located in Houghton, Michigan (home of Michigan Tech University), started as a computer sales and service office, and since its start in the mid-1990's has expanded its services to include a wide range of home and business technologies, including: computers (sales/service/maintenance contracts), networking systems/servers, telephone systems, video/audio applications, surveillance/security systems, point-of-sale equipment, premise wiring, etc.

Next Century Software & Hardware was established in 1996 by two Michigan Tech Electrical Engineering graduate students. The business started to research specific electrical engineering projects, adding computer sales and services, in an office in Hurontown. As customer relationships were built, more local business developed, and the company grew in the direction of supporting local home and business technology. Next Century currently staffs several full-time and a few part-time technicians to meet local customer demand. In 2005, Next Century changed its name to Next Century Technologies to better reflect its growing range of technology services. It moved to The Marketplace building on Shelden Avenue in Downtown Houghton. Our current location features a convenient rear entrance from the City of Houghton parking deck.

Next Century Technologies provides far more than needed parts, or a "quick fix." We offer technicians trained to be proactive members of your team. As a small business in the UP, we know how to develop custom business solutions. We'll ask questions and present possibilities, and ultimately work with you to develop the best long-range solution for your business.
